Survivors can equip one weapon and one nonweapon. Equipment is found on scavenging missions and can be traded for with other factions. It usually increases one or more survivor skills (up and above the max level 10), and sometimes gives an extra perk.

WARNING!!!:Stats are correct unless altered by policies or special perks

Named items[ | ]

Some items have a (unique?) person name. The name isn't related to any survivor (always?), but are randomly chosen. Named items are generally better than the common version and often grant perks, but the name itself doesn't matter. For simplicity, each item has only one entry and is listed with X as a name

Weapons[ | ]

Note that non-weapons may also apply for "fire arms training" and "melee training" perks. (e.g. flare gun (+1 defense, +3 leadership) also counts as a firearm.)

Editor's note[ | ]

I also recommend getting rid of a number of categories such as "kits" and "children" if the game doesn't have a relevant perk, it isn't worth having a category for it.

So far the game understands only "tools", "books", "pets", and "vehicles" for any meaningful purposes. Kids/non kids are filtered out of relevant lists more or less "behind the scenes". And it's not like there are noteworthy differences between kids, in the context of this page they are all a single item.
